Kirkbrae Update – COVID-19

UPDATED VISITING GUIDELINES FOR KIRKBRAE RESIDENTIAL AGED CARE

Further to Premier Daniel Andrews announcement of changes to restrictions across Victoria yesterday we are pleased to advice the following changes to visiting guidelines for Kirkbrae.

In accordance with the new guidelines, effective from today, November 9, a household group can visit a resident once per day for up to two hours. In line with our existing processes visitors will be required to:

  • Book the visit via Kirkbrae Reception and advise the number of visitors attending (to be no more than two for social distancing purposes), their names and contact details (for the purposes of contact tracing)
  • On arrival at Kirkbrae complete the Attestation Form and undertake temperature screening
  • Be escorted to the Residents Room for the visit by a staff member
  • At the conclusion of the visit leave the facility directly

Also from today hairdressers are now permitted to return to aged care facilities and we are in the process of arranging the return of our hairdresser.

From November 23, the guidelines will be extended to include up to 5 people from two households including children under 16 being allowed to visit.

From that date also residents will be able to go out on an excursion with their carers/families.

These revised guidelines can be found online here.

In addition, from today, we will allow flowers to be brought into the facility for residents, however they must be taken straight to the resident’s room and remain in the room.

While we will continue to allow packaged food, confectionery, newspapers and magazines to be brought in for residents, we cannot yet allow fresh food, either home made or from take away outlets, to be brought into the facility.

Should you have any queries with regard to any of the above please do not hesitate to contact Kirkbrae for clarification

We thank all our residents, their families and the broader community for their patience and their ongoing support of Kirkbrae.
