Our sincere and heartfelt gratitude for the care and love you gave Mum during these last three years at Kirkbrae. We know Mum was content and happy, she always spoke in glowing terms of the staff and how well she was looked after. Thank you again for your dedication to the work you do.

Resident family member

A good Community is more than just buildings – its lifestyle!  Set in the beautiful foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, Kirkbrae is close to shopping centres, health services, and a wide range of leisure activities.  Our Lifestyle staff are dedicated to developing and delivering recreational and social programs which both entertain and engage.

Retirement Living

Set in 15 acres of gardens our location is perfect for a relaxed, tranquil retirement.  You may choose to participate in a range of social activities and outings organised by the Lifestyle team.
Indoor bowls, exercise groups, table tennis, bible study and shopping trips are some of the activities on the social calendar. Visit some of Victoria’s tourist attractions and towns on our regular bus trips.  Enjoy a community of likeminded neighbours who share similar interests and lifestyle.

Aged Care

Aged Care residents are engaged by our extensive Lifestyle program which exercises the mind, body and spirit.  A wide range of activities cater for all interests and abilities; participating in group activities, sharing meals and attending outings are parts of the routine at Kirkbrae.

Q&A's

1I want to spend less time maintaining my home and more time enjoying it. Will retirement living at Kirkbrae enable me to do that?

In retirement living homes, the outside of your home is maintained by us and is paid for from our long-term maintenance fund. You maintain the inside of your home and we are responsible for periodic maintenance, repairs of fittings and our appliances.

2Will I have my own garden?

Residents at Kirkbrae enjoy as little or as much gardening as they choose.  Each home has its own small garden that you are responsible for and many of our residents enjoy maintaining it themselves. Some have developed their own veggie patch and enjoy sharing the crops with neighbours!  All common garden areas and grasslands are beautifully maintained by our staff, who can also care for your garden should you choose.

3Can I have family and friends come to visit or stay?

Yes, your home is yours to share in whatever way you like. Residents have family come and stay for short periods and they are welcome to join in community life. Grandchildren visiting and staying with residents is popular.

If visitors want to stay in a separate unit, our Guest Unit is centrally located and provides motel-like accommodation for up to four people at a very reasonable cost.

5Can I have a pet in my retirement home?

Yes!  A pet is an important companion for people and they will enjoy the lifestyle and community here too! Residents in our residential care home enjoy pets visiting when family and friends bring a loved pet with them.

6Once in residential care how will my loved one be spending their day at Kirkbrae?

The routine at Kirkbrae is similar to every home environment.  A range of suitable activities are planned by our dedicated lifestyle team, staff are constantly interacting with residents and family and friends are welcome.

7Can Mum have her own furniture in the Nursing Home?

Absolutely. Kirkbrae is your loved one’s new home and we encourage them to have their own things around them.  For Health and Safety reasons furnishings will need to be discussed with our staff prior to arrival.
