Kirkbrae Presbyterian Homes is a seniors living community located in Kilsyth since 1960. It is a place of mission and ministry for the Presbyterian Church of Victoria providing high quality retirement living and aged care services for people in the outer eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Kirkbrae is a Scottish word meaning ‘Church on a Hill’. Appropriately, one of the first buildings, and at an elevated part of the site, was a Chapel prominently located near an entrance. As a community based residential service, Kirkbrae offers compassionate support, care and services based on the Christian principles of the bible as adopted by the Presbyterian Church.
If you would like to worship at the Kirkbrae church, or one of the other Presbyterian Churches in this area, their details can be found here.
Since the inception of the Presbyterian Church in Victoria, it has endeavoured to provide relevant services for people in need within the community. While many other organisations today provide similar services for seniors, we believe that Kirkbrae has a special role and place in this community. Its expression of care is based on, and expresses daily, compassion and care for all. Central to the Church’s belief is biblical-based: love for one another, love for our neighbours, for holistic and healthy communities, for engagement at a spiritual level with opportunities for religious involvement. Kirkbrae strives to live and work consistently with the teachings of Jesus: " I am come that they might have life, and have it to the full". (John 10:10) This is the meaning behind the "Living Life to the Full" references found throughout this website.
